A New Day

I am overwhelmed by the events of the day.  With regrets to Martha, this is a day for celebration -- not for cleaning.
They say that President Obama's children, Sasha and Malia, will be making their own beds in the White House. I wish them eight years of joy in this task. And I wish them the freedom, when they are adults, to choose not to make their beds.

I'm late to the 'small change' party but want to join, as another mid-liver who needs many small changes to turn the house around. I am off to make my bed, and my son's. Then I will be inspired by the tidy bed to unclutter the bedroom. My Martha's Homekeeping Handbook is on the way, so perhaps my real cleaning journey will begin in February. I'm fairly confident that it will take more than a month! BTW, my mother (who is a clean freak, no dust bunnies or clutter in any of her closets) and I fold fitted sheets like you and your mother. I can't wait to discover Martha's method and be really proud of my linen closet!

Wendy! Thanks for posting, and welcome to the blog! I hope you'll come back often, and good luck with your cleaning journey.
